Survey and focus group

We would like to thank the 584 members who responded to the Customer Service Survey. As a result we have been able to put in place the following actions to improve the services and facilities:

Feedback Action
Peak Usage crowding We are investigating possible ways to decrease over crowding in peak times. These include an engineering report on the best structural layout to avoid crowding on equipment. We are also looking at our membership structure and the possibility of an off-peak membership.
Pricing/Value for money Membership prices and structures will be reviewed and competition comparison is currently being finished to compare facilities, structures and prices to ensure we provide value for money.
Hygiene – Towels We have recently implemented a policy of no towel = no workout. This was rolled out on August 11 and will be enforced to ensure all members are carrying a towel to wipe down equipment following use. We also plan to implement cleaning stations where members can take the antibacterial wipes and clean machines prior to use.
Air Conditioning This has been an ongoing problem with no short term solution. It is hoped we can upgrade the cardio zone system by installing additional units to assist current set up. We also hope to change the window system to allow for external air to exchange with internal air.
Weekend Opening hours In light of requests for longer weekend opening hours we will be reviewing our current arrangement comparing to other facilities and the needs of the business.
Equipment Maintenance We recently have had an upgrade in cardio equipment which will help with equipment not being unavailable due to maintenance. We have also put in place a procedure where all equipment will be checked fortnightly and maintained to prevent it going out of service.
Bag/Storage space We have recently installed another bank of storage units into the gym to help cope with demand during peak periods. We will also be looking at the option of installing lockers for long term usage.

Member Challenges

As motivation for our members to get into the gym and train we have set up some member challenges to work towards. These include Maximum Dips, Maximum Chins, Max Bench, Max Bridge hold, 1km and 2km row, 3km treadmill and 5km bike. For further information on these challenges please speak to a staff member.

Q3 Champ

As part of providing a better environment in the fitness centre we are trying to promote great achievements and improvements. Using this principle we are happy to announce Roy Sheikh as our Q3 champ.

Roy has lost an amazing 56kgs in the previous 18 months by training 4 – 5 sessions per week.

If you know of anyone who has achieved a great result please pass this information on to a staff member. Well done Roy!

Music Survey

We have recently undertaken a music survey to ascertain the music needs of our members. This has resulted in us installing the use of a song play list with a greater range of music than previously provided. If you have any suggestions for the music which is played in the gym please don’t hesitate to let us know.
