Mothers Day ClassicSunday 9 May, 2010What is the Mothers Day Classic? What is the Mothers Day Classic?Breast cancer strikes one in nine Australian women. The Mothers Day Classic is the biggest community fundraising event for breast cancer in Australia. With over 67,000 people participating nationally, this walk/run event gives people the chance to make a real difference to the lives of those diagnosed with breast cancer. All proceeds from the Mothers Day Classic are donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation that promotes and supports research for the prevention and treatment of breast cancer. Starting on St Kilda Road in front of the The Arts Centre, the route takes walkers and runners through the beautiful, scenic botanical gardens.
